The Story

The Rope Handle Vessel is a true embodiment of Italian craftsmanship. Artisans employ the age-old technique of hand-packing clay into a mold through a process known as Calco. Each mold is left to dry for 2-3 days, during which the clay naturally shrinks, making it easy to remove the mold. Following this, the urn undergoes firing in a kiln at 950 degrees, and a second firing ensues, adding a white glaze finish. The result is a stunning piece that beautifully blends tradition and elegance.
